The Fire Starters: Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling

 

It’s finally springtime! During these cool nights, we love gathering around our fire pit. Thanks to a clever technique, we can start a fire even with limited dry kindling.

Several posts I’ve come across offer fantastic suggestions for making fire starters at home. One great idea involves utilizing items that would otherwise end up in the trash or recycling bin.

To reduce, reuse, and recycle fire starters, start by collecting cardboard tubes from items like toilet paper, paper towels, and wrapping paper. These will serve as the foundation for your fire starters.

If the tubes are too long, trim them down to about 6 to 8 inches and store them in an empty container in your laundry room.
